The Tonka Beans are the seeds of the Guiana Tree.
The Guiana Tree is primarily grown in the upper reaches of the Caura in the Bolivar State of Venezuela.

The sarrapio bears it fruit every 2 years, with harvests in the first quarter, a single tree can produce up to 30 kilos of the fruit, “sarrapia almonds”.

This spice complements wonderfully well with chocolate and is great for infusing sauces, bakery; custards, cakes creams, puddings even mashed potatoes!
